Swiss couple record statement through video-conferencing

(UNI) A Swiss couple has recorded their statement and identified their looted luggage through video-conferencing in connection with the gang rape of the Swiss woman at Bhutaha forest in Jharia village on March 15. The couple recorded their statement before Special Sessions Judge Jitendra Sharma through video-conferencing yesterday. Six accused -- Brijesh Kanjar, Rishi Kanjar, Vijresh Kanjar, Ram Kanjar, Vishnu Kanjar and Nitin Kanjar -- have already been arrested and luggage looted from the couple seized from them. Thirty-seven witnesses have been identified for recording their statements. Of them, recording of statements by four witnesses, including the Swiss couple and two policemen was still remaining. Now, recording of statements by only two policemen remains. During the video-conferencing, the Swiss couple remained in the Swiss Embassy in New Delhi, while the accused were taken to National Information Centre amid tight security.
