Sterlite copper plant: Green Tribunal refuses to lift stay
(UNI) The National Green Tribunal will hear on May 16 the petition of the company operating Sterlite copper plant in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu.
Tribunal Chairman Justice Swatanter Kumar, however, refused to vacate the stay against the operation of the plant.
There are allegations that the biggest copper plant in India is causing extensive damage to the environment and endangering the health of the residents in the area surrounding the plant. UNIRelated Posts
