Madras HC bail to 3 men accused of conspiring to kill Advani

Chennai HC (UNI) The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court (HC) granted conditional bail to three people accused of hatching a conspiracy to kill senior BJP leader LK Advani during his 'Jan Chetna Rath Yatra' by planting a powerful pipe bomb beneath a causeway in this Southern district in the year 2011. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case arrested Dharves Mydeen (49) of Nelpettai, Syeed (35) of Villapuram and Mustafa (26) of Kuppupillai Thope locality in Madurai on March 26 last on the charges of procuring materials, including batteries from Erode to make the 7.5 Kilogram Pipe bomb stuffed with highly lethal 'Power Gel 90,' an improvised version of Gelatin. While a search is on to arrest the prime accused behind the plot S Fakrudeen alias 'Police' Fakrudeen, Bilal Malik and Mohammed Hanifa, the SIT filed a charge sheet in Tirumangalam Judicial Magistrate Court on December 11, 2012. When the bail plea of the three men came up for hearing, they contended that they had no links with the case and the police have registered a case against them without proper evidence. UNI
