(UNI) A Delhi court declined to change the bail conditions of Zee News Chairman Subhash Chandra ruling that prior permission of the court will have to be taken while going abroad.
Additional Sessions Judge Daya Prakash dismissed the petition filed by Mr Chandra for cancellation of prior permission of court before going abroad.
The Zee News Chairman had got bail in relation to a case lodged by Congress leader Navin Jindal against him.
Jindal Steel and Power Plant (JSPL) Managing Director Navin Jindal had accused Mr Chandra of trying to extort Rs 100 crore from him for not showing a sting operation against the former, allegedly involved in the Coal scam.
The Court said the condition was imposed earlier by ASJ Raj Rani Mitra at Saket court in relation to an FIR lodged by JSPL in relation to extortion of Rs 100 crore.
Since the investigations are still going on, it will be difficult to change any conditions laid down while granting him bail, the court observed.
Other accused besides Mr Chandra in the case are Punit Goenka, Managing Director of Zee News Limited, Sudhir Chaudhary, Editor and Business Head of Zee News and Samir Ahluwalia, Editor and Business Head of Zee Business.
The Zee Chairman had denied all allegations against him and had sought lie detector test on Mr Jindal to ascertain the truth.
The Sessions Court had, however, on May 7 dismissed Zee's request to have a lie detector test on the JSPL chairman.
The court also dismissed the petition of Zee seeking court monitored investigation in the case. UNI
